Kindergarten – summer school 🍦 Ice Cream Day
Hello everyone! Happy Friday! ☀️
During summer school we made homemade ice cream! We mixed milk, sugar and vanilla in a bag. We put this bag inside another ziplock bag filled with ice and rock salt. The kids had a lot of fun shaking the bags back and forth to help freeze the ice cream quickly. Everyone was surprised when the milk turned to ice cream! We all enjoyed eating this cool treat. -Starr♡
Kindergarten – Summer school (Jungle Safari and Rainbow Day) 🌈
Good morning! Day by day summer school is getting closer to being over but we still have a lot of fun things to share with you.
On this day, the themes were “jungle safari” and “rainbow” day! For the safari part, we went on a scavenger hunt. The children made binoculars and had to search all over the room for the hidden jungle animals. We had so much fun and it was great to watch the older students helping out our K1 kids.
For the rainbow part, we did a rainbow experiment. We put different color water in clear cups and joined them with paper towels. The students loved watching the water “climb” up the paper towels. They had a blast guessing what colors the two combined would make. Great day! - Starr♡
Kindergarten – Summer School ⭐️ Relay and Craft
Today’s summer school themes were “relay” and “craft” day. We had a great time during our relay games playing the over under game with a ball and hula hoop scramble! After that we made a popsicle craft by glueing pieces of tissue paper to a popsicle template. Everyone had a great time talking about what kind of popsicles they wanted to eat ! - Starr♡
Kindergarten – Summer school science
Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. We are having a great time in summer school☀️
This day we had a science activity! This rain cloud in a jar is a weather science experiment that gave our students a chance to explore clouds and rain in a hands-on and engaging way!
First we got a clear cup of water, put white shaving cream on top and used a dropper to drop blue water on top. The shaving cream represented the clouds and the water represented the air. The colored water represented rain. As the colored water saturated the “cloud”, it got heavy and eventually is so heavy that it could no longer hold the water. It “rained” down into the jar – through the “air.” It was just like real rain falls through the air. The kids really enjoyed this and I hope you all did too! - Starr♡
